Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 16, 2026

Niani (“Niani,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a family rewards app that lets parents set tasks and prizes for their children, and lets children earn and redeem tokens. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Niani website and mobile app (together, the “Service”).

Niani is designed to be set up and controlled by a parent or guardian. A parent creates the family account and decides which children participate. By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Service:

  • Parent account information. When a parent signs up, we collect an email address and a password (stored securely in hashed form by our authentication provider), and an optional display name.
  • Children’s information. Children do not create their own accounts and do not provide an email or password. A parent, or a child joining with the family’s invite code, provides limited information the parent chooses to share — typically a first name or nickname, and optionally an age — so the child can be identified within the family.
  • Task submissions. To prove a task is complete, a child may upload a photo and short notes. These are shared with the parents in that family so they can approve the task.
  • Activity within the app. Tasks, token balances, prizes, redemptions, and related history that make the rewards system work.
  • Basic technical data. Standard information such as log and device data needed to operate and secure the Service.

We do not collect precise location, we do not show advertising, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

How we use information

  • To provide and operate the Service and its core features.
  • To sync tasks, tokens, prizes, and approvals between a family’s parent and child devices.
  • To send account and security emails (such as sign-up confirmation and password reset).
  • To keep the Service safe, prevent abuse, and fix problems.

We do not use children’s information for any purpose other than providing the Service to their family.

Children’s privacy

Niani is intended for family use under the direction of a parent or guardian. The parent creates and controls the family account, chooses what information about a child is entered, and can review or delete that information at any time. We collect the minimal information described above solely to provide the Service and never condition a child’s participation on disclosing more than is reasonably necessary.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us information without appropriate consent, contact us at dominguez.ty@gmail.com and we will delete it.

How information is stored and shared

Your data is stored using Supabase, which provides our database, file storage, and authentication. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We also use an email delivery provider to send account-related emails.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf to run the Service, or where required by law.

Data retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as the account is active. A parent can remove a child’s data or delete the family account, which deletes the associated information. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, email us at dominguez.ty@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
